$196,541 in August ad-attributed sales. 5.46× ROAS. ACOS down 11.24 percentage points from July.
A bigger advertising budget only creates more value when the additional spend produces better-quality returns. In a documented Gaiam engagement, FBA Venture's work focused on combining high-intent targeting, stronger product storytelling, strategically timed offers, and selective campaign scaling. The archived Amazon Ads reports show an unusually clear outcome: ad-attributed sales grew much faster than advertising spend between July and August 2024, while efficiency improved.

Evidence: archived Amazon Ads July 1–31 and August 1–31, 2024 reports. These are advertising-attributed sales, not total Seller Central revenue.
Sales and spend share one dollar scale, so spend is shown in proportion to attributed sales. Amazon Ads monthly reports, July and August 2024.
The numbers
July ROAS is calculated from the July report's sales and spend. August ROAS is reported in the August dashboard. Exact figures are rounded in the table; the underlying report amounts are retained above.
Read this correctly: more than thirteen times the ad spend supported nearly twenty-two times the ad-attributed sales. That is a meaningful improvement in advertising efficiency, not proof of net profitability, incremental lift, or total-marketplace sales growth.
The brand
Gaiam operates in yoga, fitness, and wellness, offering products including yoga mats and related fitness accessories. In this category, product choice depends on more than a low price: shoppers consider grip, cushioning, comfort, intended activity, materials, and fit for their routine.
For marketplace growth, those product details matter because an advertisement can attract attention, but the listing and offer must still give the shopper a reason to buy. That made the connection between demand targeting and product communication central to the engagement.
The challenge
The archived July advertising report provides a clear starting point: $2,649.75 in spend generated $8,968.25 in ad-attributed sales at 29.55% ACOS.
The question was not simply whether Gaiam could increase spend. It was whether campaigns could reach more relevant buyers while maintaining—and preferably improving—the sales returned per advertising dollar.
Three commercial pressures shaped the work:
Discovery
The original engagement notes describe four areas selected for optimization: higher-intent keyword targeting, product storytelling, seasonal promotions, and scaling stronger campaigns.
Taken together, those priorities addressed a connected conversion path:
Relevant search → compelling product explanation → timely offer → disciplined media investment.
The archived reports document account-level Amazon Ads outcomes. They do not include a retained search-term audit, individual SKU conversion report, or experiment log, so no product-specific diagnosis or isolated uplift is presented as measured fact.
Strategy
Rather than pursuing impressions or spend as goals in themselves, the engagement combined four complementary decisions:
Concentrate targeting on keyword and shopper segments aligned with the product's actual use cases.
Present product benefits in language and listing content shoppers can evaluate quickly.
Use timely promotional activity to give relevant buyers an additional reason to act.
Increase investment behind stronger-performing campaigns rather than distributing additional budget indiscriminately.
The purpose of this approach was to make traffic quality, conversion, and budget allocation reinforce one another.
Execution
The team notes describe a more focused approach to keyword selection and audience relevance. Instead of relying solely on broad exposure, the work prioritized traffic more closely aligned with purchase intent.
Why it mattered: relevant traffic gives product pages a better opportunity to convert without relying on volume alone.
The engagement notes describe improving the way products were explained—focusing on concrete benefits and making product value easier to understand at the point of purchase.
Why it mattered: an effective advertising click still depends on a convincing product experience.
Promotional activity was coordinated around periods of customer interest rather than treated as an isolated discount exercise.
Why it mattered: paid reach and offer timing are more useful when they point toward the same purchase opportunity.
The team reported reallocating more spend toward campaigns demonstrating stronger potential and avoiding indiscriminate increases across weaker segments.
Why it mattered: growing the budget can amplify inefficiency unless campaign performance guides where incremental dollars go.
These execution workstreams come from the original engagement narrative. The available screenshots show the overall advertising result but do not separately quantify the effect of each action.
Evidence
The comparison draws on archived Amazon Ads reports for July 1–31 and August 1–31, 2024. These records document advertising-attributed sales and efficiency, rather than total marketplace revenue. The reporting-period and metric labels must remain visible wherever the underlying evidence is presented.
Results
August generated $196,541.39 in ad-attributed sales, an increase of $187,573.14 over July's recorded figure. Advertising spend increased by $33,341.52 to $35,991.27.
Importantly, the relationship between spend and sales improved:
This is a month-to-month Amazon Ads comparison, not a controlled experiment. Promotional timing, demand variation, changes in product assortment, and other factors may also have influenced the figures; no individual intervention is assigned a fabricated percentage of growth.
Commercial impact
The business value in this case is the combination—not merely the $196.5K headline. A larger advertising investment produced proportionally more attributed sales, while the advertising cost of each attributed sales dollar fell.
That is a more useful measure of paid-media progress than spend or revenue alone. It indicates stronger efficiency within the captured advertising reports; it does not by itself establish margin growth, profitability, or lasting organic-ranking gains.
The operating lesson: expansion should be judged by what happens to sales efficiency as investment grows—not by budget size alone.
More ad spend is not a growth strategy. Better decisions about where it goes can be.
If your Amazon advertising is reaching a spending ceiling, FBA Venture can help review the relationship between targeting, conversion, campaign structure, and budget allocation.
